About me
Building a Bridge Between Software Development and Cybersecurity
Hello 👋, my name is Emil COZMA, and I’m a remote Software Developer turned aspiring Cybersecurity Analyst, and this blog is where I document the highs, lows, and learning curves of that journey.
Over the past 10+ years, I’ve worked as a software developer on everything from small startups to large-scale applications. I’ve written and maintained backend APIs, built sleek frontend interfaces, and led remote teams to deliver high-impact software solutions. But as the tech landscape evolved, so did my curiosity-especially around topics like data breaches, secure coding practices, and system vulnerabilities.
That curiosity led me to pursue the Google Cybersecurity Certificate, which opened up a new world of challenges and possibilities. I realized that my developer background gave me a unique perspective on cybersecurity-and that security is not a side task, but a core part of building resilient systems.
This blog is my way of sharing what I learn as I move deeper into this field. I’ll write about technical concepts, career transitions, training resources, and how to leverage software development skills in cybersecurity roles. You’ll also see content about building a portfolio, contributing to open-source security tools, and tips for remote professionals exploring this space.
I believe that cybersecurity isn’t just for experts in dark rooms-it’s for builders, creators, and curious minds who want to make the web safer. If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place.
When I’m not coding, you can find me exploring IoT innovations, working on DIY projects, or enjoying nature riding my bike on my travels.
Feel free to reach out if you’d like to discuss a project or collaboration - I’d love to connect!
